Empowering women
and changing lives

HER serves vulnerable young women ages 18 to 25 with the support, skills and resources they need to make lifechanging positive decisions and thrive. We do this with intensive and holistic support with a specialized and intentional focus on the long-term empowerment of all women.

Who is HER

HER Resiliency Center (HER) utilizes a person centered and trauma informed approach. We know healing as an individualized process. We understand that treatment and recovery is a process unique to each woman, and it is deeper than any physical wounds. More importantly, we know the journey is possible.

You might be wondering who “her” is?
At HER, we try not to use labels. We know labels can be stigmatizing, and we also know that the less crisis and trauma in her life, the quicker she can get started on her journey.

How We Do It

  • We get it. We “get” the nuances that can hinder the process of achieving our goals.
  • We understand the value of economic empowerment.
  • We are leaders in building cognitive development in young women who have experienced trauma.
  • We do not believe that being dependent on social service agencies should be the destiny for young women.
  • We use a “peer based” approach that extends to treating the women we serve exactly, as that, peers and as equal partners.
